When Intuit decided to open possibilities for software developers to synchronize with its #1 selling line of QuickBooks products, Mainstreet Systems was invited to Intuit's headquarters in Mountain View, California to explore adding dental laboratory case management to QuickBooks. The invitation was accepted, the fit was perfect, and work began in 2004.

Introduced in early 2005 to an enthusiastic number of labs, Dental Lab for QuickBooks quickly became the premier product in this industry. Initially designed for small to medium labs, the introduction of QuickBooks Enterprise versions extended its reach to the largest labs. Today it synchronizes with all English-language versions of QuickBooks — USA, United Kingdom, South Africa, New Zealand, Canada, and Australia.
